Declan is alot like me, I love creamcheese and sourcream but I don't love it enough to eat it plain.

Sype

What a Great Night, the boys were able to skype Grandma Mary and Grandpa David and Grandma Mary even read acouple Thanksgiving books to the boys. We also were able to skype Grandma Terri and Grandpa Patrick but the video was not working so the boys couldn't see them but they were still able to hear them. Hopefully we can get it fixed soon, we love being able to see them.

Get Back into Bed!

Guess who is up and out of bed?


Yes, Declan is in full control of Nick and I. He was Dancing at 8:45pm and I was laughing and thinking he is the cutest thing on earth when I should have been walking him back to his bed and telling him in a Firm voice that Enough is Enough, it is BED TIME!

Aidan is now out of bed and thinks it is funny that Declan continues to get out of bed without getting into trouble.


This was at 9:00pm when their bedtime is suppose to be 7:00pm but tonight was a special night because they were able to skype both sets of Grandparents which made them a little excited and full of energy. We can't wait for them to visit us in Dominica, my Mom comes in 9 days and is able to stay with us for 3 weeks and Nick's parents are coming in December and is able to stay for almost 2 full weeks. We can't wait.

New Hair Cut

Declan loves to dance to Go Deigo and Dora music. I gave him a new hair cut, he had so much hair and it is so hot here that he needed something new. He loves the way his hair feels and looks so cute.

Farewell Dinner

It is sad to think that these girls will be gone in a month. I will miss them so much!

A cow

There should also be a sign that reads " cow crossing zone". We have cows everywhere on the island and they just roam around and eat but on this day, this poor cow was being chased by a bunch of dogs.

But we are Sick...

H1N1 has been going around campus so there is alot of talk about sick people, well our boys feel they are sick but only at night when it is time to go to bed and stay in bed. Nick decided to check the boys out and tell them that were not sick but very very healthy and needed to go back to bed so they could grow big and tall while they slept.

Relaxing

I was out on our balcony during Declan's nap and Aidan was watching Lost World 1 & 2 ( I am amazed that he can sit through over an hour of an old man who talks about fossils, I know the movie is made for adults, but our little man loves it) and I saw a whole family of big white birds on a tree but when I went in to get my camera they were all gone but one. I wish Grandma Miller had a computer to see this picture because we thought of her and her love for sitting by her big window watching birds and other animals. Next time I will try to get a closer picture and maybe I can figure out what kind it is. One thing about Dominica is that there are tons of birds, we even had a couple owls by our house that were Beautiful!

Bug Bites

I kept Aidan and Declan home from school today because Declan has had horrible diarrea and I didn't want to have to walk to the school to drop Aidan off and then pick him up all while stopping to change Declan's diaper in the hot sun so we spent the day at home painting, having fun and cleaning.

Tomorrow is a Holiday so alot of the buisnesses will be closed for a couple days so I asked our neighbor Katie to come up and play with Declan for an hour while Aidan and I went grocery shopping. There must have been ALOT of bugs in the taxi because we both came home with huge welts and bug bites on our legs, arms, etc. While we were sitting on my bed and I was telling him how much my legs itch and I asked him if he had any and he looked down and said " well I know nipples are not on my feet so they must be bug bites". It was so funny, it still brings a smile to my face.

This was on a day when Declan didn't want to go to school so I told him if he was going to stay home he had to WORK!

Halloween Island Party

The Ross Spouse Organization put on a Halloween Party for the kids, they went way out to make sure it was a Blast for the kids. It was so nice of the non mom spouses to run the booths so the mom's could enjoy it with the kids. Thank you EVERYONE for your hard work, we appreciate it!

Confetti Eggs, we painted them and filled with with Confetti and the kids were able to crack them open on peoples heads, it sounds pretty bad but it was alot of fun and the kids LOVED them.

Trick or Treating around Campus

Dominican do not celebrate/beleive in Halloween but the school put together trick or treating around campus. Aidan went with his class and I had planned to walk around with Declan but


Declan fell asleep before the trick or treating started.

Good Night

After I knew we were going back to Dominica one of my worries were about the boys sleeping arrangements knowing that we sold the crib and the boys would have to share a bed. The times they had slept in the same bed, it was non stop fighting, they would wake up swinging at eachother.

We are happy to say they do great now. We did have to set some rules; you stay on your side of the bed, you sleep on your own pillow, keep your hands to yourself, etc. The boys normally talk for about a half an hour before getting bored and falling asleep.

Creole Celebration

It was Creole Day in Dominica on Friday, there was a program at school where all the kids were involved. It was a neat experience.

Declan's Treats

Declan brought cupcakes to school as a treat for snack time, his classmates and teachers loved them but were unsure of the candy corns that were on the top of them.

Fun with Coconuts

Aidan's knees are all torn up from fallling. Aidan seems to fall whenever he wears his flip flops, well you would think that he wouldn't wear them then, right? Wrong. We limit him wearing them to once a week but his keens that he wears ALL the time can make his feet very hot and when he wears his flip flops he loves the way his feet are cool.

What's New?

Nick: He is doing Great in school. His classes this semester are Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology/Immunology and Behavior Science. He is getting more hands on training and attends clinical every Monday. I love seeing him dressed up with his white coat on but I hate having to iron his clothes every week. We actually see Nick alot, we see him everyday for lunch, then he comes home for dinner, reads the boys their bedtime books and puts them to bed and then he studies at home for the rest of the night. I know he is happy to have the opportunity to spend more time with us, when we were back in the states we barely saw him with him working full time and going to school so this is new for all of us and we love it.

Aidan: He LOVES school and would love to go 7 days a week if he could. Today he begged me to let him go to aftercare ( he has never gone but has seen the kids line up and go back into school), so Declan and I waited an hour or so for Aidan to REALLY be done with school. He is very into dinosaurs and loves to bring them to school so he and his friends can play together with them. Aidan is a very good friend and loves to share with his friends. He just started biting the neck of his shirt, we are hoping it is a stage because his shirt is always wet but we will see. His favorite things to do are crossword puzzles, connect the dots, and kids activity pages, he is learning TONS in school, we are very pleased with Ross Preparatory School.
Aidan has a crush on a girl named Jillian, she is very cute and it is funny to see him blush.

Declan: He is my sidekick and I would not have it any other way. He also likes school and loves his teachers, he talks about Mrs. Evelyn and Mrs. Mary all the time and smiles as he says their names. He loves to act like a big kid, he knows he is cute and he loves to cuddle. Declan and I have really had the chance to bond since we have been here, he likes things his way and his way only and I think I can relate to that ( alittle). Declan is a big daddy's boy, he asks about Nick if Nick is not with us and Aidan always reassures him that daddy is at school and will be home soon. It is sweet to see the boys get closer. Declan is into cars, he could play with cars for hours and he also likes to color pictures and copy everything Aidan does.

Family: We have been attending an at home church called The Lighthouse, it is a nondenominational church. There is a group of 50 or so students, spouses and families that attend, it is small but very personal. It reminds me of a bible study group, we really enjoy it and look forward to it every Saturday. They have a children's service that the boys LOVE and talk about for days after.

Me: I am happy, healthy, blessed and where I want to be. My goal is to get healthy and stay happy.

I can't believe how much Halloween decor we have in our apartment, our families have been great with sending us boxes, the boys have no clue that the locals don't celebrate Halloween, our apartment really feels like a Home. Thank You!

These were the boys pets for a day until one escaped and then after a couple hours of looking for the missing one the boys agreed that they should be together OUTSIDE to crawl around freely.
